My Approach to Therapy

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor (LCSW)-S) specializing in child, teen, and family support, offering in-person. Finding the right therapist for your child or teen can feel overwhelming. Its often the first step toward a more peaceful home. I believe healing doesnt happen through clinical exercises alone. It happens through the power of a genuine, compassionate connection. My approach is emotionally corrective. By providing a safe, non-judgmental space, we can actually "rewire" the brain, replacing old, painful habits with new, healthier patterns of relating to ourselves and others. For children, I use play-based approaches that allow kids to express what they don't yet have the words for, helping them process big feelings in their most natural language. The older your child is, the more I incorporate skill-based therapy modalities to match their development. For teens, I provide validation and practical tools to help them manage intense emotions and navigate the social pressures of todays world. Most teens come because a caring adult in their life recommended therapy. My goal is to make sure they actually want to be here. For parents, I view you as a vital partner. Sometimes it can feel like youre doing everything you can. Its still not enough. We will work together through family therapy to strengthen your bond with your child and build a supportive environment where the whole family can thrive. I can help you decode the underlying needs behind your childs behavior. I also help you communicate in ways that truly resonate with them. I am deeply trauma-informed. I prioritize your emotional safety above all else. My goal is to empower you and your child by validating your unique experiences and strengths. In my office, you arent just a "case." You are a person worthy of a real relationship. Whether your child is struggling with big behaviors, anxiety, or the aftermath of a difficult experience, I am here to help your family move forward together.

My Practice & Services

I offer a 15-minute phone consultation to make sure we're the right fit for each other. From there, we will discuss what a first session can look like. If you're a parent, this session is often a great place for us to dive deeper into what your family has been walking through lately. We will then discuss how to move forward and what type of therapy will be best for you and/or your child. If we end the phone call, determining we're not the right fit for each other, I'm happy to help connect you with someone who might be.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

-Parents: Parenting is exhausting, and it often feels like guesswork without a manual. Whether you're navigating a hard season, hitting roadblocks with your child?s behavior, or just struggling to hold it all together, you deserve support. I?m here to help you build on your existing strengths while providing specific skills to foster emotional awareness and responsiveness. Together, we?ll move past the frustration to help your family thrive. You don't have to navigate this journey alone. -Children: Before opening my own private practice, I worked as a school social worker in Waco ISD and Houston ISD, so I often say that I "speak teacher", meaning I can often partner with your child's school if that'd be helpful. Or this experience could be useful because I have insider knowledge on what stressors your child may be facing at school, having walked the halls for years myself. -Sexual Assault Survivors: Lastly, I'm passionate about supporting young adults who are sexual assault survivors. If this is part of your story, know that you are not alone, and this does not define you. There is a future where you can reclaim your strength and rewire your brain to cope with the trauma reminders you regularly face.
