My Approach to Helping
I hold the belief that we live within a relationship system, like our relationship with God, with ourselves and others including family, friends, and work associates. Within these relationship systems, some problems could start to show up and life can get difficult or out of balance. Some relationships lack healthy boundaries, (toxic or dysfunctional relationship patterns) causing internal conflict in us (anxiety, depression, confusion). Recognizing what's not working can be the first step to growth and change...healing. Talking about these feelings and emotions, in the presence of another is healing. I would be honored to work with you in any identified areas of pain or problems that you are struggling with including grief, loss, fear, guilt, and abuse. If you feel like your heart is broken come in and we can talk about the hardest parts and to begin to find hope for moving forward.

Trauma can look like always being on edge or being irritable; having anger issues or avoiding crowds; being depressed or anxious. These behaviors show up in our relationships, at work, or when things are changing as in a life transition or in environmental adjustments. Trauma experiences can be a one-time event that happened in the past or a long-term experience. Trauma can benefit from eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Whether you think you just need to talk with someone or you need some tools to begin to help change some things, I want to offer you help to begin to address your pain. I work with individuals, married, and premarital couples. I can help you address the communication problems you may be having. Whatever you have faced or are currently struggling with can be helped. You can regain hope see change as you gain clarity and have more control of your thoughts, your emotions, and your life.

I use a variety of evidence-based practices, empirically supported treatments and resources including EMDR, Attachment and Systems work, Solution Focused, PrepareEnriched Premarital, Mindfulness CBT, Emotional Focus Therapy (EFT) and Self Compassion. Because we are all different I will work with you to provide personalized treatment plans aimed at accurately and effectively addressing your specific needs and goals.
