What's My Approach to Therapy?
With over 10 years of clinical experience, I understand how crucial it is to approach client care as a partnership, fully appreciating the sacredness of the healing journey. And just as each journey is unique, so should be the care provided to support the process.
I invest time to listen and learn. There is no substitute for feeling heard, for feeling seen, for feeling held in your most vulnerable moments, and for receiving sincere validation of your emotions and lived experiences. And from that solid foundation, together we craft an individualized care plan that aligns with your specific goals.
My integrative approach to clinical recommendations may include medication, but it does not rely on this as the sole modality for treatment. I strive to not just treat symptoms but to uncover the roots of your challenges, providing you a sense of direction and hope that fulfillment and peace are attainable. I educate on specific tools to deepen your mind-body connection, tools to successfully regulate your nervous system so you can achieve mental clarity and feel safe and grounded in your body. These are some of the overlooked pillars of mental health stability that foster the shift from surviving life to thriving in it.
You are the author of your story, and it is an honor for me to be welcomed into that story as your mental health provider. I am committed to holistic care that is grounded in science without compromising on compassion. I am confident that our partnership will foster the positive, lasting change you seek on your mental health journey.
Formally educated and trained at Vanderbilt University for all of my academic pursuits, I obtained my undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Psychology, a Master's Degree in Cognitive Psychology, and then found my way into nursing to obtain my Master of Science in Nursing. I find my psychiatric mental health nursing speciality a beautiful blend of my fascination with the brain and my desire to use that knowledge to help others.
My passions outside of clinical practice include reading, crafting with my daughter, coaching youth sports, trying new cooking recipes, traveling, home decorating, and making memories with my family.
