Hi there! My name is Leah and I know choosing a therapist can feel overwhelming. A lot of my friends have shared this with me, but it shouldn’t be an anxiety-inducing experience. One of the most important things to consider in a therapist is the therapeutic relationship. Research shows that your relationship with your therapist is one of the most important aspects of therapy and I treat that relationship with great care because I know how much it matters. In terms of treatment style, I use a combination of approaches depending on the client, so the experience feels personalized. My mission in sessions is to uncover what’s causing you distress and then challenge you and inspire you to take control of your future. I use a tactic I’ve named compassionate confrontation. I’m a therapist who will push you and challenge you to have difficult conversations, look in the mirror and make decisions that may not be easy. I will always do this with the utmost respect and compassion for my clients, but life isn’t easy, so sometimes therapy won’t be either. That’s where the relationship comes in, because we’ll be having those tough talks together, side by side and you won’t be alone.
