My Approach to Helping

As a practicing board-certified art therapist and licensed professional counselor, I offer an individualized and integrative approach based upon your needs. I provide psychotherapeutic services drawn from a variety of psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive approaches that utilize both verbal and non-verbal forms of self-expression.

Art therapy can provide a safe outlet for expressing emotions. I value guiding individuals toward developing connections and insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and creating new spaces for healing through authentic, supportive dialogue.

Emotions can be difficult to express, feel and identify- and it can be difficult to navigate them on our own. You may be seeking my professional services in order to work through an internal struggle, alleviate emotional pain, improve relationships, explore obstacles to greater life satisfaction, increase a sense of balance and stability, andor experience an alternative way of expressing feelings and thoughts using imagery and metaphor. I hope to create a genuine connection with anyone who believes they are in need of support and believes that healing can occur in a safe, warm, and supportive therapeutic relationship.

More Info About My Practice

I value being a part of a dynamic clinical team of professional health care providers at Holistic Health Counseling Center. Our goal is to meet the unique needs of each individual client. Using a holistic approach to mental health and a client-centered approach to therapy, we use a wide range of therapeutic techniques and interventions to help you overcome the issues that brought you to therapy.

Effective therapy is collaborative and interactive. We are here to help you feel better and overcome obstacles with the tools and techniques you need to move forward positively in your life.

We also offer other mindbody wellness services. Massage therapy, meditation and mindfulness instruction, and more.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

In being a dual-licensed counselor and art therapist, I provide an integrative approach to therapy that is based on your needs, values and beliefs about treatment. Often we enter into therapy when we are challenged by current stressors, have difficulty expressing emotions or are unable to communicate our needs. In sessions together we can work on moving towards a greater sense of balance.
With a warm and gentle presence, I set out to open a dialogue that may explore past and current values and stressors, ways of coping and personal strengths. Art therapy is a specialized modality that I provide to support emotional expression and healing.

My Role as a Therapist

Individuals, families and couples often reach out to me during moments in their lives in which there is a strong need to feel seen, heard and understood. For individuals across the lifespan and coping with varied life experiences, I offer an authentic and engaged approach to therapy that creates a trusting environment for exploration of issues related to coping with major life transitions and changes (divorce, job changes, loss of a relationship), grief and loss, emotion regulation, coping with traumatic loss and complex trauma, aging, parenting and caregiving, relationship struggles, depression and anxiety.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

I believe that connecting with your therapist is essential to a successful therapy journey, so I encourage you to reach out and see if we might be a good fit. With my experience working with diverse populations, I have honed my skills in helping individuals work through challenges related to depression, anxiety, trauma, and identity, among others.
