My Approach to Helping
I am currently on maternity leave and not accepting new clients at this time.
Congratulations on taking the first step towards finding a therapist! I know that this process can feel daunting as you try to find someone who will be a good fit for what it is you seek. It is my job, and my passion, to partner with you and work toward understanding the uniqueness of your situation and personal story. By striving toward a full understanding of the issues that are bringing you to therapy, I can tailor our approach to the work we do to complement your needs. Once we enter into the therapeutic relationship, you will find a space that is safe and without judgement, and where you can work through your inner most thoughts with gentle support. Please give me a call with any questions you may have about the services I offer. I am looking forward to hearing from you!
More Info About My Practice
My fees for therapy range depending on the service and whether or not insurance is being billed. All sessions are 50 minutes in length. Payment is collected at the start of each session. I am able to accept Regence Blue Shield insurance. If you are interested in using your health insurance (other than Regence), please contact your insurance company and ask about reimbursement for out-of-network providers. Many of my clients are able to receive reimbursement for all or part of my fee. If cost is a barrier for receiving services, I do provide therapy at a discounted rate using a sliding scale. I am only able to provide this rate to a set number of clients at a given time. Please get in touch with me so that we may discuss if you qualify and the options that are currently available.
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
Many clients who have come to me have shared that prior to coming to therapy, they believed that seeing a therapist meant that there was either something "wrong" with them, or that they were not strong enough to handle what life threw their way. I encourage people to view therapy as a tool that is available to them. Just because you use a hammer to drive a nail into wood does not imply that you are weak. In fact, using tools to accomplish the tasks we face is a sign of resourcefulness and intelligence. If you have considered seeing a therapist but are concerned about what it would mean for you, you are not alone. I urge you to give it a try!
