My Approach to Helping
Covid-19 has brought a lot of changes to our world. If you are experiencing the aftershocks of having this illness yourself or having been in a caregiving position for someone who has, know that you are not alone. I’ve been where you are, and I’m here to partner with you as you grow from these challenging experiences.
I have a core belief that every person has strengths and we can draw on those strengths to help you meet your needs. The approach I take is predominantly Strengths-Based and Solution-Focused, but I will draw on other methods in an eclectic way based on your needs and situation. My goal is for our sessions to bring you relief, even from the first session. I want you to leave our sessions ready to be kind to yourself.
I have extensive experience working with people in a variety of contexts, including families involved with children’s services or juvenile court, inmates in a jail, and residents in a long-term care facility as they struggled with loss of independence, isolation, and sometimes health concerns. I embrace opportunities to work with people who are struggling with anger management, communicating with the people in their lives, anxiety, depression, and overwhelm.
