My Approach to Therapy

Do you frequently worry, feel tense, hurt, ashamed, guilty, or irritated? Or do you have problems in your relationships with others? If any of these concerns feel familiar to you, there is hope. Together, we can become more aware of why you feel this way, and I can give you tools to help you feel better. We will collaborate to explore and understand your behaviors, feelings, and thought patterns, so you can find peace. You will feel safe, heard, cared about, and understood. You will not be judged. I am skilled in using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy, complicated grief therapy, and other evidence-supported approaches to help you work through grief, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, trauma, anger management, and other difficulties. I feel privileged to be able to watch you gain insight and experience more joy.

My Practice & Services

My fees are $150 for the first intake, and $120 for each session thereafter. I accept Humana, Optum, United Health, UMR, MedBen, Custom Design Benefits, cash, all major credit cards, checks, and PayPal. I am in the process of joining additional insurance panels in Kentucky. My office is located in Erlanger, Kentucky. I typically see clients Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more details, please contact me with any questions by phone, email, or through my website.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Research has proven repeatedly that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) are effective in decreasing the intensity, duration, and frequency of emotional problems. They operate under the premise that human beings are not disturbed by events or situations, but by the views we take of these events and situations. In order for you to feel better and improve relationships, you must learn to be aware of and understand your thought patterns contributing to the way you feel and behave. Once you've explored and understood your thought patterns and how they are related to your feelings and behaviors, you can begin to challenge the unhealthy ones and change the way you relate to your your thoughts and feelings. Working with an experienced psychotherapist can help you learn to identify, challenge, and replace unhealthy thought patterns as well as gain other coping skills.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I enjoy helping people to feel safe and secure discussing their thoughts and feelings. I love watching people learn more about themselves, change their perspectives, solve their problems, and improve their lives.
