My Approach to Helping
I consider my role as a psychotherapist an integral thread of my spiritual path. What led me to work within this field was an innate calling to live in deep connection to the human spirit in all its complexity, to be a part of creating a space for individuals to access, and experience profound healing and empowerment. As my desire to be in service evolved I came to realize that what I am seeking is to co-create a vision and embody through my own healing work, a sustainable shift towards inter-dependent mindful living.
My orientation is relational, psychodynamic, humanistic, existential and feminist. I help cultivate a somatic/body mindful awareness practice while holding a transpersonal (intersection of psychology & spirituality) view. I believe all individuals are innately good and moving towards balance and harmony in the best ways they know. Dis-ease in all it's forms, manifests when we are living from unconscious patterns that no longer serve who we are becoming. Through introspection, presence, body awareness and inquiry, I support clients in gaining insight into and letting go of unhealthy behavioral and belief patterns. It is through the primacy of our therapeutic relationship that new profound modes of relating can be known and integrated. I have deep reverence and gratitude for the gift of witnessing another in their most tender and vulnerable places. I honor and value my role in facilitating a space for people to courageously open to their potential- the multi-faceted experience of the authentic Self living in life's full embrace.
