My Approach to Helping

Whether you are seeking therapy for the first time, you're transitioning out of a higher level of care, or you're somewhere in between, my goal is to help you experience relief from your symptoms and get back to living life on your terms. I work with teenagers (13+) and adults and specialize in treating eating disorders, anxiety, and depression. I also have experience in treating PTSD and OCD and understand the importance of providing trauma-informed care. Regardless of your diagnosis, I believe that it's important to tailor each person's treatment to their specific needs.

As part of my treatment approach, I believe that each session is an opportunity for you to develop a deeper awareness of the self, uncover patterns, learn to build tolerance for uncomfortable emotions, and strengthen self-compassion. I also provide art therapy, which allows you to express emotions and process experiences that may be difficult to speak about.

I have seen first-hand how both talk therapy and art therapy can encourage growth and support an increase in self-awareness and mindfulness. I look forward to the opportunity to help you or your child gain support and learn skills that will be beneficial for years to come!

My Role as a Therapist

My role as a therapist is to assist you in developing a deeper awareness of yourself and to support you as we uncover patterns that have kept you stuck. I will provide honest feedback and tools that will help you build tolerance for uncomfortable emotions as well as strengthen compassion for yourself as you move forward in the healing process. My role as a therapist is to provide the tools for you to make progress towards personal goals that you find important. I will offer unconditional support as you reconnect to living a life that is in alignment with your values.

As an art therapist, I will often bring in specific prompts or directives that support exploration of the present concern. I always provide an inclusive, safe and non-judgmental space for you to create so we can work together to uncover deeper meaning using creativity.
