What's My Approach to Therapy?
Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns they cannot seem to break, or frustrated with themselves for struggling to function the way they want. You might feel like you should be able to handle things better, yet the same challenges keep showing up in your life. My approach to therapy is collaborative and practical, grounded in the belief that meaningful change begins with a deeper understanding of yourself.
I work with teens and adults navigating ADHD, substance use, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, academic and vocational stress, and family and relationship concerns. Together, we explore the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that contribute to current challenges while developing practical strategies to support real change in everyday life.
Therapy with me is both reflective and action-oriented. Some sessions focus on gaining insight and understanding difficult emotions, while others focus on building tools to improve emotional regulation, relationships, and daily functioning. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can feel understood while also gaining the clarity and skills needed to move forward with greater confidence.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
It is completely normal to feel unsure about starting therapy. Many people wonder if their struggles are serious enough or worry about what the process will be like. The first session is simply a conversation about what has been going on in your life and what you hope might feel different. There is no pressure to have everything figured out. Therapy moves at your pace, and we work together to find approaches that feel helpful and meaningful for you.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
My own experiences with personal challenges have shaped how I approach therapy. They have given me a deeper appreciation for how frustrating it can feel when your mind works differently or when you feel stuck in patterns that are hard to change. These experiences help me approach clients with empathy, curiosity, and a nonjudgmental perspective, while also staying focused on practical tools and meaningful change.
