My Approach to Therapy

Seeking therapy is a courageous decision, and I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel heard, respected, and understood. My goal is to create an environment where you can openly explore your thoughts, emotions, and life experiences while feeling supported every step of the way. Together, we will work to identify your strengths, overcome obstacles, and build meaningful, lasting change. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and groups navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, substance use, relationship concerns, stress, self-esteem, anger management, and life transitions. I have a special passion for supporting individuals from diverse and historically underserved communities, recognizing that culture, identity, and lived experiences play an important role in the healing process. As an African American woman, I understand the importance of culturally responsive mental health care and strive to create a therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe discussing every aspect of their identity. I believe therapy should honor who you are while helping you develop practical tools to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your individual needs. I utilize evidence-based therapies, including person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), motivational interviewing, strengths-based interventions, and trauma-informed care. Together, we will create goals that reflect what matters most to you and develop strategies that fit your lifestyle and personal values. I believe progress is not about perfection; it's about taking intentional steps toward the life you want to create. Whether you're facing a difficult season, healing from past experiences, or simply looking to better understand yourself, I am committed to helping you build the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to thrive. You don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you begin your journey toward healing, growth, and emotional wellness.
