What's My Approach to Therapy?
I am a culturally sensitive clinician who emphasizes working transparently and collaboratively with people of all backgrounds and orientations. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices such as internal family systems (IFS), which helps clients to understand and heal the various parts of self that make up one’s internal world. I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and narrative therapy. My therapeutic approach is warm, direct, strength-based, and creative, as we work through both past and present conflicts to achieve lasting change. I like to assess what your needs are, and then pull from different therapeutic modalities to ensure that we can work together to try to meet those needs. I am a culturally sensitive clinician who emphasizes working transparently and collaboratively with clients of all backgrounds and orientations. I am a lifelong learner whose practice is grounded in the belief that we all have the capacity to learn, grow, and heal.
I specialize in working with folks who are experiencing anxiety, depression, peer and family relationship issues, grief or loss, and life transitions, not only due to my education and career background, but also my own lived experiences. Artists, academics, and both youth and adult individuals adjusting to the demands of adulthood often find their way to my practice.
