My Approach to Therapy

I specialize in EMDR and help adults and teens work through complex trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, and the effects of a sensitive or overwhelmed nervous system. My approach goes beyond managing surface-level symptoms. Together, we’ll gently explore the roots of what you’re experiencing, process what your mind and body may still be holding onto, and create space for healing and lasting change. I also have a special passion for supporting parents of children with big behaviors. With first hand knowledge as a foster, adoptive, and biological parent, parenting can feel especially overwhelming when your child’s needs are intense or difficult to understand. I help parents better understand what may be underneath their child’s behavior, respond from a place of connection rather than exhaustion, and build greater confidence in their parenting.

My Practice & Services

I provide telehealth sessions for anyone in the state of TN, and in person sessions in Mt. Juliet, TN. I am in the office Tuesday-Thursdays 8:30-2:00. I also offer EMDR intensives.

My Therapy Focus

I don’t get lost in the details of the behavior. I look underneath it. Our bodies are designed for connection, yet connection becomes difficult when our nervous systems shift into a protective state. This is true for both children and parents. What looks like defiance, anger, withdrawal, anxiety, or disconnection may be communicating something deeper. I help parents put on their “X-ray vision goggles” to look beyond the behavior and understand the why underneath it. Together, we explore what may be happening within the child’s nervous system, the parent’s nervous system, and the relationship between them. My goal isn’t simply to change behavior. It’s to create understanding, safety, and connection so healing can happen. Whether I’m working with an adult, teen, or parent, I want to help you understand what’s underneath the struggle, heal what needs healing, and move forward—not remain stuck in the past.
