What's My Approach to Therapy?
I am passionate about working with people at the cusp of life transitions, including relationship issues, employment and educational challenges, addressing undesired behavior patterns, spiritual and existential exploration, and emotions associated with trauma, grief, and loss. As I collaborate with my clients, we explore past experiences and current thoughts and behaviors to assist us in identifying goals for the future. I strive to meet clients exactly where they are, emotionally, physically, and spiritually, and to support and challenge them with compassion and curiosity.
My experience includes working with adults across the life span, women’s issues, self-esteem, self-concept issues, identity exploration, alcohol and other drug (AOD) concerns, and cultivating mindfulness practices. My passion for helping others tell, understand, and appreciate the value of their unique story is undergirded by my background and training in the performing arts.
My clients share that they feel validated and supported, and that the counseling environment is conducive to self-exploration. They reflect on an increased acceptance for themselves and others, improved ability to be mindfully present, newly discovered ease with clear and direct communication, and strengthened engagement in supportive, loving relationships.
