My Practice & Services
Dr. Shaffer was drawn to mental health care, mental health populations, and the need for increased visibility and more treatment options from the beginning of her nursing career. That interest led her to continue her education and earn her Master of Science in Nursing from Drexel University, and later her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Wilmington University. These accomplishments allowed her to pursue her passion as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
Dr. Shaffer’s background includes strong clinical skills and a primary goal of making you an equal participant in your care. In addition to medication management, she incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), culturally sensitive, compassion-focused, and person-centered techniques into treatment. Dr. Shaffer’s approach uses evidence-based practices, with patient safety and the best possible outcomes at the forefront. Her role is to be an active participant and support for whatever goals you have for your treatment. If you are ready to get started, schedule an appointment with her today.
