What's My Approach to Therapy?

At Rise Counselling Clinic, our skilled and understanding therapists help you overcome the obstacles you're facing with humour and grace. We aim to make starting therapy easy by offering online booking (including evening and Saturday sessions) and direct billing for most insurance plans.

Maybe you're feeling stressed, lashing out at loved ones and then feeling guilty. Or maybe anxiety gets in the way of enjoying your life or your child's or teen's life. Perhaps you are impacted by trauma or loss and want to understand and control your responses when that trauma is activated. You might be struggling with low self-esteem and noticing that guilt is holding you back from leading the life you've pictured for yourself. Our therapists specialize in many areas of practice, including: trauma, grief, infertility and pre and postnatal mental health, self-esteem, depression and anxiety, relationship problems, workplace stress, parenting, addiction, living with chronic illness and life transitions.

We support individuals aged 8 and up with a range of emotional and mental health concerns, and use interventions that are proven to help improve child and teen engagement in therapy. Our therapists draw on lived experience to serve groups such as First Responders, Educators, and Health Care staff, who have unique experiences.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

We highly recommend you take advantage of a complimentary 15-minute consultation before booking a full session. This allows you to meet your therapist and ask any questions you may have. It also allows the therapist to learn more about your situation and discuss how they can help you. This will give you confidence and energy to move forward in a good way with your new therapist and start building the therapeutic alliance that research tells us is so crucial to success in therapy. Or it can let you know the therapist isn't a good fit, and you can arrange a consultation with another therapist at Rise who is right for you.
