My Approach to Therapy

With empathy and compassion, my goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change in your life at your own pace, and to move forward in strength. My name is Kate Fullmer. I am a licensed master social worker, supervised by Nicole Stark, Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor (Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)-S). I began my career in behavioral health in 2007 after earning a Bachelor of Science in Family and Human Development from Arizona State University. I have worked with nonprofits serving children and families, as well as in outpatient and inpatient settings supporting substance use, mental health, skilled nursing, and case management. I completed my Master of Social Work in 2021 and began working as a therapist. I work with late teens and adults on self-esteem, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship struggles, substance use, and narcissistic abuse recovery.

My Practice & Services

My goal is to build rapport and create a nonjudgmental space to explore your emotions and experiences. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to identify negative thinking patterns and understand how they impact other areas of life, and then I tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs. Therapy is a collaborative process, and you always have choice and input. I know how hard it can be to take that first step, especially when you’ve been carrying things on your own for a long time. Showing vulnerability and opening old wounds isn’t easy. If you’re ready, I’d be honored to support your journey as you work toward change. I invite you to schedule a session to get started.
