My Approach to Therapy

Hey I'm Kay (she & they)~ A Queer, Korean american, neurodivergent therapist offering virtual sessions for adults in Atlanta and across Georgia. My Approach: - I’m an LGBTQ+ affirming, neuro-affirming, and nonmonogamy-affirming therapist. - I especially welcome autistic and ADHD adults. - I’m trained in integrative somatic trauma therapy, which brings together relational, parts-based (IFS-informed), and body-based approaches, always based on your capacity and consent. - I practice with an emphasis on clear communication and thoughtful pacing. - I believe in healing through connection: to oneself, to community, and to the body. Who I Work Best With: - I work best with clients who are reflecting on how trauma, marginalization, or chronic stress have shaped their sense of self and nervous system, and who are ready to explore new ways of relating to their bodies. What Therapy With Me Is Like: - Therapy with me is active and collaborative. - We work together to find structure that supports you both in sessions and between them. - We draw from somatic skills like awareness-building and body-based regulation tools, and build accessibility supports that fit your brain and body. - I’m transparent about goals, pacing, and boundaries so therapy feels grounded, predictable, and supportive. Availability: - I currently offer both sliding scale and reduced fee sessions. My sliding scale is $100-$150, and the reduced fee is available on Open Path Collective between $60-$70. - Please reach out and we can schedule a 15-minute free consultation to connect further~

My Practice & Services

How Can Somatic Trauma Therapy Help? Somatic trauma therapy helps by working with how trauma lives in your body and nervous system, not just in your thoughts. I’m trained in integrative somatic trauma therapy, so I draw on different approaches depending on what you need: building awareness of your body’s signals, learning practical regulation skills, getting to know the protective parts of you through an IFS-informed lens, and working relationally so you’re not doing this alone. We move at a pace based on your capacity and consent, and you don’t have to retell every detail for healing to begin. My goal is for you to feel more connected to yourself, your body, and your community.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

If therapy has left you feeling unheard, pathologized, or like you had to explain your identity before anyone could help, your experience is valid, and it makes sense that you’re cautious. Many queer, trans, BIPOC, and neurodivergent people come to me after being misunderstood or asked to mask in therapy. Many others come after years of talk therapy where they could explain what happened and why, but their body and nervous system still felt the same. I come to this work with lived experience as a queer, Korean American, neurodivergent person, so you don’t have to explain everything to be understood. We work with the body as well as the story, and you can tell me what’s working and what isn’t at any point. If you’re not sure yet, a free 15-minute consultation is a low-pressure way to ask questions before deciding.
