Julia Rozin, M.A., is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) providing individual therapy and couples therapy in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and New York. Above all else, it is the relationship between client and therapist, the core of therapy, that heals. My focus is on understanding each person as a full human being, not just their symptoms or problems, but everything that makes them who they are. Everyone has an innate need to be seen and understood, so I create a space where you feel safe enough to share and to explore emotions, whether in individual sessions or relationship counseling.
My Practice & Services
My approach to therapy, including but not limited to grief work, is existential and attachment based. This means I believe that processing grief offers an opportunity to reevaluate one's existence, reflect not only on what was lost but also what remains, as well as search for meaning at a time when it can all feel meaningless.
The main therapeutic goal of my practice is a connection with the person in front of me. I know how difficult it can be to recognize you need more than just a good friend to hear you, to search through many clinicians and ultimately find the right fit. I offer a free ten minute phonevideo consultation to make the process of connecting accessible and safe.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Although grief is most often associated with emotions in response to a death, my clinical training and experience has made it evident that we can experience grief due to loss of a person, pet, ideals, culture, disappointment in life?s trajectory, a non death related end of a relationship, chronic illness, and so many more common but painful experiences in life. Grief, loss, emotional pain in relationships is ubiquitous with living and it by no means has to be linear.
