My Approach to Therapy

You may be looking for therapy because anxiety, trauma, relationship stress, or questions about identity have started to feel too heavy to carry alone. I work with adults and couples who feel stuck in old patterns, disconnected from themselves, or unsure how to move forward. I especially enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ clients who are exploring identity, spirituality, family expectations, shame, belonging, and what it means to feel more fully themselves. My style is warm, honest, and collaborative. I use eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), parts work (Internal Family Systems (IFS)), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and relationship therapy to help you understand what is happening underneath the surface and begin building more trust in yourself and your relationships. I do not see you as broken. I see you as someone who has learned ways to survive, protect yourself, and get through hard things, and our work can help you move toward a life that feels more connected, grounded, and true to you.

My Practice & Services

Therapy with me usually starts with getting a clearer sense of what has been feeling heavy, what you have already tried, and what you are hoping feels different. I tend to move at a pace that feels human, not rushed. Some sessions may feel more reflective, while others may be more focused on tools, patterns, communication, or processing something specific.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

I believe the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important parts of therapy. It matters that you feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to explore what feels hard, and respected enough to move at a pace that feels right for you. I try to bring warmth, curiosity, honesty, and care into the room so therapy feels less like being analyzed and more like having someone with you in the work. My hope is that our relationship becomes a place where you can feel seen, understood, and gently challenged as you build more trust in yourself.

Groups I Work With

I work with adults and couples who are navigating anxiety, trauma, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), relationship stress, identity development, and life transitions. I especially enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ clients, gay men, queer adults, and people exploring the intersection of identity, spirituality, shame, family expectations, and belonging. I also work with clients who are healing from trauma, religious or spiritual wounds, childhood attachment issues, difficult relationship patterns, and the pressure to be who others expect them to be. My work is affirming, collaborative, and grounded in helping you feel more connected to yourself and your relationships.
