What's My Approach to Therapy?

Addressing Your Emotional Space
Are you facing a challenge that feels bigger than therapy? Perhaps you are walking through the most difficult passage of your life—a profound loss, an existential crisis, or the final chapter of a loved one's story. You feel the call for something deeper than a clinical fix; you need a guide who can look beyond the symptom and into the soul.

You are looking for meaning, dignity, and a compassionate presence that can hold sacred space without judgment.

My Role as Your Guide
I am Brother Joseph, and I am here to walk that path with you. As a transpersonal psychologist and spiritual guide, my work is to bridge the psychological with the spiritual, transforming your pain into profound presence. My training (clinical Psy.D. degree) and my personal commitment to the Sannyasin path mean I approach your suffering not as a problem to be solved, but as a Tirtha—a sacred crossing point in your journey.

I don't offer treatment; I offer guidance, companionship, and radical acceptance.

My Process: From Pain to Presence
When we work together, you can expect a process built on three pillars:
Deep Listening and Unmasking: In our sessions, you are the absolute authority on your life. I listen not just to your words, but to the silence, and the spiritual energies moving beneath them. We use the insights from transpersonal psychology to understand how your history and spirit inform your current crisis.

Sacred Preparation (Sādhanā): For those facing end-of-life or a major transition, my process shifts to death doula work. This is highly personalized and non-medical. We focus on legacy projects, creating a peaceful final environment, facilitating difficult family conversations, and ensuring your passing is honored with dignity, purpose, and spiritual alignment.

Anchoring the Spirit: As a renunciate, my deepest offering is unwavering presence. I guide you into spiritual practices (sādhanā) that bring you back to the self. My companion, Shvana (Sanskrit for the dog of Bhairava), often anchors our space, symbolizing protection and loyalty to the divine truth of your path.

My commitment is to honor your process, to witness your truth, and to ensure you never walk through the darkness alone.
