My Approach to Therapy

Imagine you’re at the point where things aren’t completely falling apart, but you know something isn’t working the way it should. You’re handling responsibilities, showing up for work, your family, and the people who depend on you. On the outside, things look fine. But internally, you might feel stuck in the same arguments, the same stress, or the same patterns that keep repeating, no matter how hard you try to handle them on your own. You may be the kind of person who usually figures things out yourself. You push forward, solve problems, and keep things moving. But when it comes to communication in your relationship, managing stress, or navigating a major transition, it can feel like you’re running the same play over and over and getting the same result. That’s often when people reach out. My role is to help you slow things down and make sense of what’s actually happening underneath the surface. In our work together, we focus less on venting and more on understanding patterns, improving communication, and building practical strategies that you can apply in real life. If you come in as a couple, I help both of you step out of the cycle you’re stuck in so you can actually hear each other and move the conversation forward. If you come in individually, we focus on identifying what’s keeping you stuck and developing clear, actionable ways to change it. My style is active, structured, and solution-focused. I ask direct questions, offer clear feedback, and help you translate insight into real change. The goal isn’t just to talk about problems. The goal is to help you move forward with more clarity, better communication, and practical tools you can use outside the therapy room. If you’re motivated to do the work and ready to approach things differently, therapy can be a powerful place to reset patterns and start building something healthier going forward.
