I am a mental health therapist specializing in addiction and substance use therapy, offering in-person counseling and online therapy. Addiction and substance use challenges are complex. They call for a comprehensive, individualized approach. Effective support needs to consider not only the person struggling with substance use but also their environment, the unique stressors they face and the specific characteristics of the substance involved. It’s also important to recognize that underlying mental health concerns, such as trauma, anxiety, depression and attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) challenges, can contribute to addiction. I integrate trauma therapy, anxiety counseling and depression therapy into treatment to address these root causes and support meaningful recovery.
Therapy should feel supportive, respectful and compassionate. Creating a safe, nonjudgmental space is crucial so clients can feel heard and understood without fear of censure. In my experience, conversations often revolve around the stress and worry in clients’ lives and the real challenges they face in managing intrusive thoughts. By focusing on these areas, I help clients build healthier coping strategies and strengthen resilience.
I bring over 30 years of experience in the field of psychology, including 15 years dedicated specifically to treating substance use challenges. My work is grounded in compassion and care. I’m deeply committed to supporting clients as they work toward success and happiness. Their well-being remains my highest priority throughout the therapeutic process.
