What's My Approach to Therapy?
I combine a holistic, strengths-based approach when working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, college adjustment, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, grief and loss, pet loss, and trauma. I believe that there is nothing more empowering than discovering your inner strength and developing the courage to work through life's most difficult moments.
My sessions are warm and inviting, so that you can feel safe and comfortable opening up about your life and what your goals are. It's okay if you don't have it all figured out. It takes time to unpack and process what you've been going through, and we will explore that together.
Before I received my MSW in social work, I became a certified Hatha yoga instructor and yoga therapist. I also received my bachelor's degree in creative studies and writing. I enjoy working with clients who are open to both traditional modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), and somatic practices that support and help regulate the body's response to stress and dysregulation by incorporating breathwork, meditation, yoga, and mindfulness skills.
I have always been drawn to the healing arts and the introspective work that can be found through psychotherapy, creative arts, writing and journaling, and yoga. I have been learning and engaging in these practices since 1998. It has been a lifelong passion of mine to bring these therapeutic modalities together to support the whole person, so that my clients can discover their personal path to healing and live a more balanced, peaceful life.
My goal will always be to meet you where you are and to support you on your journey. I look forward to working with you.
