I believe the secret to healing trauma lives in the body and the nervous system. I am a somatic psychotherapist who uses bottom-up modalities like Hakomi, Internal Family Systems, Brainspotting, Acudetox, and trauma-informed yoga to help you change old neuronal pathways that may be keeping you stuck. We will collaborate to help condition the nervous system out of fight-or-flight and into rest-and-digest.
I specialize in treating individual adult clients who have complex trauma, struggle with chronic pain and/or autoimmune diseases, caregiver compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma or secondary traumatic stress experienced by nurses, doctors, and other healthcare workers. Slowing down in mindfulness is a skill that can be learned and leveraged, using this altered state of consciousness to contact and heal those deeper parts of yourself that are still carrying old hurts and burdens.
Although I am still a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)-Associate), I have been a nurse for over 20 years, and I have been teaching yoga in the mental health community for over 5 years. If you are looking to not only heal old wounds, but to cultivate a felt sense of safety to live a full, embodied, and empowered life, then I would love to be your guide on this sacred journey.
