What's My Approach to Therapy?

Hi, I'm Jaimie, an eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)-trained, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT)-certified therapist with a particular interest in helping clients heal from trauma and loss. I believe that everyone deserves a joyful life and that every person has the capacity for growth. If you’re feeling stuck, fearful, depressed, or emotionally overwhelmed, you’re not alone. Therapy can support you in rebuilding a sense of safety, agency, and well-being. My mission is to help you see yourself without the trauma, to move through life without the shame or fear, and to create emotional wellness that is sustainable. I specialize in working with survivors of sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, attachment disruption, adoption and foster care, and military trauma. Using evidence-based treatment is important to me; I will work with you to determine the best method to create lasting and meaningful change. As an adoptive mother with experience in parenting children with special needs and attachment trauma, I understand the challenges associated with various dynamic family settings. My personal and professional experience has taught me to lead with empathy and curiosity, that no two experiences are the same, and that with the proper support, healing will come. You are not defined by what happened to you. Take the first step today and schedule a consultation to explore how therapy can help you move forward.

My Practice & Services

The Phoenix Center gets its name from the phoenix, a creature that rises from the ashes of destruction, like all those who gain clarity, perspective, and strength after experiencing trauma and adversity. Therapy is a safe space and a collaborative experience for rebuilding trust and resilience. Learning to reconnect with the world, and to rediscover joy, is not only possible but it's also within reach. At The Phoenix Center, I'll help you process pain, strengthen relationships, and restore trust in yourself. Sessions are available virtually or in-person at my Groveland office; schedule a free consultation today or visit my website for more information!
