My Approach to Therapy

Having served in the military and worked in healthcare, I know firsthand that life is full of challenges, obstacles, and unexpected events that can deeply shake a person’s foundation and sense of safety. I utilize a person-centered approach that values acceptance, authenticity, and empathy to create a safe space where you can feel comfortable sharing important information, process your life experiences, and heal from traumatic events. I employ several therapeutic methods and personalize my interventions to suit your specific needs. I specialize in anxiety, depression, stress reduction, interpersonal relationships, grief and loss, life transitions, and management of chronic pain or illness. I work with adults (18+) and welcome diversity, including all body sizes, abilities, race, sexualities, genders, religion, and cultural background. Whatever healing journey awaits you, you do not have to walk it alone.

My Practice & Services

With my 20+ years of experience in the healthcare field, I understand the critical link between physical health and mental health. This connection means that your experience of stressors, trauma, and emotions is physically felt in your body. For this reason, I focus on the whole person and employ an integrated and holistic approach that bridges the gap between your physical symptoms and psychological distress, treating the mind and body as interconnected. I am a proud Boricua of Puerto Rican heritage, as well as Chinese, which allows me to appreciate the complexities of cultural identity in my client’s lives. I am fully bilingual in Spanish and English and understand the importance of language in the expression of emotions and experiences, the nuances of cultural context, and accuracy in communication. I strive to promote cultural humility, sensitivity, and authenticity for my clients. My practice is LGBTQIA+ celebratory, neurodiversity-affirming, and anti-racist.
