My Approach to Therapy

As a woman and as a mother, I understand that life can feel overwhelming sometimes, and it can be difficult to ask for help. Irma Lizette Anguiano is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas, serving clients in Houston. She goes by her middle name, Lizette. Lizette has been in the mental health field for 15 years and has worked in a variety of settings. She specializes in helping clients with depression, anxiety, parenting issues, work-related stress, and motivation and confidence. She is passionate about supporting clients during difficult times and life transitions.

My Practice & Services

Lizette completed her Master of Mental Health Counseling at Webster University's remote campus at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. She went on to complete her training as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and is licensed to practice in Texas. She has worked in various settings and with a variety of populations. Her experience spans 14 years, and she has worked with children and families, parole and probation, and in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. Lizette understands the array of ways in which mental health affects families and individuals. She utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy, depending on each client's needs. Her approach when working with clients is to lead with empathy and understanding. The therapeutic journey is a process that can take time. Lizette embarks on this journey alongside her clients so they can work together at their own pace. Her goal is to provide each client with a safe space where they can discuss concerns and issues in a judgment-free environment. She hopes to help her clients find strategies to better cope with the demands of life and increase their confidence in their ability to evolve and gain a greater perspective on the struggles they are facing.
