What's My Approach to Therapy?
I am so grateful and proud of you for taking this huge first step in seeking out therapy. I believe every person has the power to change their life and create positive change from within, and I am extremely passionate about mental health and the transformative power it holds in our lives.
I graduated with my master's in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University, a CACREP-accredited program, and am a registered mental health counseling intern in the state of Florida. My clinical experience spans a broad range of populations and settings—I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families in both individual and group therapy contexts.
I have extensive experience conducting group therapy sessions using evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness practices, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I have also provided individual and family therapeutic sessions, helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, interpersonal challenges, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), and a wide variety of other life struggles.
What makes my approach unique is that I bring both professional training and personal experience to our work together. I have personally struggled with anxiety, depression, and posttraumatic stress (PTSD), which allows me to genuinely empathize and resonate with my clients who are walking through similar dark seasons. I believe in practicing what I preach—I have been in therapy myself and understand firsthand that self-improvement is hard work, and real change takes courage.
I utilize a broad range of therapeutic modalities tailored to your specific needs. I use person-centered therapy to gain a deeper understanding of you and your personal perspective, and I operate from both cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy frameworks while incorporating acceptance and commitment therapy to create acceptance and generate positive, actionable change moving forward.
I believe everyone can change their lives, and starting therapy is a huge first step. I am honored to be a part of each person's healing journey, and I would love the opportunity to work with you and be a part of your next step forward into the life you deserve.
