My Approach to Helping
When you start therapy with me, I strive to create a comfortable, safe, and supportive atmosphere filled with compassion and genuineness. Starting therapy is a hard decision and my goal is to work with you to build a trusting relationship where you are comfortable talking about what brought you to therapy in the first place. I believe that you have within you what you need to change and grow in healthy ways.
I take a holistic approach that focuses on you as an individual as well as how you fit into your world of family, work, and social relationships from the past and the present. I believe that not only do your past experiences shape your personality but they also influence how you behave, feel, and think. Together we will explore how past experiences and current circumstances contribute to your difficulties. I work collaboratively with you to empower you to make meaningful changes to build relationships, find peace, and discover meaning.
I will teach you new skills and help you explore abilities you already have to improve your life and reduce your symptoms. I tailor my interventions to your specific needs with an eclectic approach that is unique to you.
