What's My Approach to Therapy?

I believe that the most effective approach to psychotherapy includes respect for the individual, a caring approach, and professionalism. Every person is different and unique. As such, every client deserves an assessment and treatment that is customized to the needs and reality of each person. Being able to truly listen and to understand each client's situation and perspective is critical. This facilitates connecting, which is so important! Of course, having the proper psychotherapy techniques is also very important. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Cognitive behavioral therapy has been proven by research to be the most effective approach. Also, other techniques in which I'm certified are eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)—used effectively to treat trauma and posttraumatic stress (PTSD), among others—and clinical hypnosis.

My background includes having lived in different countries, different parts of the USA, being fully bilingual (English and Spanish), and having a unique background of education and experiences that I believe help me connect better and be most effective. My experience includes having worked with the University of Miami at Jackson Memorial Hospital for several years, and I currently have two private practice offices (Miami and Boca Raton). I am here to help you work through any of your challenges and to help you achieve your full potential.

My Practice & Services

I conduct psychological evaluations for immigration cases, including Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), hardship, cancellation, T and U visa, asylum, United States citizenship requirements exemption (Form N-648), and independent medical examination.

I understand the importance of psychological immigration evaluations in supporting immigration cases. I'm devoted to providing high-quality reports that effectively communicate and support the client’s situation. To ensure the best outcome, collaboration between all parties is essential.
