My Approach to Therapy

Are you trapped in a cycle of perfectionism where your self-worth is entirely tied to your output? Do you experience intense performance anxiety, mental blocks, or imposter syndrome just when the stakes are highest? Do you feel more relief than joy after a win? Perhaps you’ve tried to force your focus or push through exhaustion, but your mind and body are signaling that it's no longer sustainable. You don't have to white-knuckle your way through it alone. Drawing on my own background in professional sports, media, and corporate environments, I am here to help you break free from these cycles. My approach is systemic, holistic, and deeply collaborative. To get to the root of your performance blocks efficiently, we will use tools like Brainspotting, in which I'm certified, to process stress and clear tension at a somatic level. I have had success working with clients who have plenty of talk-therapy experience but need a deeper, body-oriented shift. We will go at your pace, and I will always lead with my heart. Your mind wants to heal; when given the right conditions, you can reclaim your ease and move forward with confidence. If you are looking for a space to unpack these pressures, please feel free to reach out.

My Practice & Services

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) offering evening and late-night telehealth sessions to accommodate demanding schedules across high-pressure fields. Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent a decade as the agent of a No. 1-ranked tennis player, worked as a sports reporter and corporate coach, and held roles in marketing and business development. This background gives me firsthand insight into high-pressure environments, intense scrutiny, and external expectations. Professionally, I am an Associate Sex Addiction Therapist (ASAT) candidate and a certified Trauma-Informed Care Practitioner, with advanced training in somatic experiential therapy and recovery coaching. I hold a BA and an honorary MA from the University of Cambridge, and a Master's in Couple and Family Therapy from Seattle University. As a British-American who has lived in five countries across three continents, I bring a broad, systemic, and culturally attuned perspective to my work.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

There are multiple benefits to good therapy, including: understanding oneself better (and therefore being better equipped to make decisions, especially about relationships); enhanced emotional regulation; and bringing the unconscious to a level of consciousness. Somatic therapy, which I practice, goes a step further by promoting greater awareness of bodily sensations, which in many cases means reconnecting with one's intuition; gut feeling; and authenticity.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

The world is upside down, with strength often perceived as weakness, and the most emotional folks being seen as the least emotional. It is easy to isolate and be invulnerable; what takes courage and strength is to ask for help and be introspective. Showing up to a therapy session is an act of vulnerability. It is an act of strength.
