My Approach to Therapy
Hi! I’m Felicia Williams, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California, providing mental health services for children, youth, and families. I’m grateful you’re here. I’m a compassionate, empathic social work professional dedicated to providing exceptional mental health services, including effective support for diverse populations, such as children, youth, and families who are living with persistent mental health challenges. I enjoy working with individuals who are currently, or were previously, part of the foster care system, as well as people experiencing anxiety (persistent, uncontrollable worry, restlessness, a rapid heartbeat, trouble sleeping, and physical tension like headaches or stomachaches). Some people also experience panic attacks and shortness of breath. I also enjoy working with individuals who experience depression (feeling numb, low, or disconnected from themselves; trouble sleeping, or sleeping too much; loss of interest in things that once made you happy; feeling hopeless, guilty, or “not good enough,” and struggling to get through everyday tasks). I also support people who have experienced trauma and posttraumatic stress (PTSD), including feeling on edge or easily startled, nightmares or flashbacks about painful experiences, difficulty trusting others or letting your guard down, emotional numbness or disconnection from your body, and avoiding reminders of the past.
In our first session together, here’s what you can expect:
We’ll do introductions and begin to build rapport. I don’t want our sessions to feel like counseling sessions. I want them to be fun and interactive. While I do believe in asking hard questions, making you think, and talking about the things we don’t like to talk about, I also want you to feel safe, heard, and understood. I want you to have tangible tools you can put into practice after sessions to help you work toward your goals. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling a little lighter and more hopeful than you did when you logged on.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions:
As a provider, my greatest strengths include exceptional communication skills, a genuine ability to empathize with people, a strong commitment to education, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to build trusting relationships that help me understand and address each person’s individual needs.

Why Social Work
Felicia?s journey into social work is deeply personal. As a former foster youth, she experienced firsthand the challenges, instability, and emotional struggles that many individuals in the system face. Rather than allowing those experiences to define her, she used them as motivation to create change. Her lived experience gives her a unique perspective and a deeper level of compassion and connection with the individuals and families she serves. Felicia chose social work to be the support she once needed to guide, uplift, and advocate for those navigating difficult life circumstances
