My Approach to Therapy

If you feel stuck in the same arguments, walking on eggshells, or slowly growing apart, you're not alone and it doesn't have to stay this way. I specialize in helping couples break negative cycles, strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and feel more emotionally connected in ways that actually work using the Gottman Method. This approach gives you clear, practical tools to better understand each other and navigate conflict without it turning into the same cycle. I also work with individuals who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, overthinking, or life transitions. Together, we focus on understanding whats keeping you stuck while building tools to help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control. If youre new to therapy or unsure where to start, thats completely okay. Ill meet you where you are, and well move at a pace that feels comfortable while helping you make meaningful progress.

My Practice & Services

Novara Counseling is a private practice offering therapy for couples, teens, and adults in San Diego and throughout California via Telehealth. My goal is to provide a supportive, thoughtful space where clients feel comfortable slowing down, gaining clarity, and working toward meaningful change. In my practice, I focus on creating therapy that feels both compassionate and practical. Sessions are tailored to each clients needs and paced at a level that feels manageable, while still helping you make steady progress. Whether we are working on relationship challenges, anxiety, self-esteem, or life transitions, I aim to offer tools and insight that you can carry into everyday life outside of therapy. I offer both in-person sessions in San Diego and secure virtual sessions throughout California for those who prefer the convenience and flexibility of online therapy.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Therapy offers a supportive space to understand patterns, communicate more clearly, and heal emotional wounds. For couples, psychotherapy helps rebuild trust, deepen connection, and reduce conflict using evidence-based tools from the Gottman Method. For individuals, therapy provides relief from anxiety, depression, and stress by helping you make sense of your experiences, build insight, and develop practical skills for emotional balance. Whether you are navigating a difficult relationship, a life transition, or personal challenges, therapy can help you feel more grounded, confident, and connected.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

It's completely normal to feel unsure about starting therapy. Many people worry about opening up, not knowing what to say, or wondering whether therapy will really help. You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. My role is to create a space where you feel comfortable, supported, and not judged. We move at a pace that feels manageable, and you are not expected to share more than you are ready to. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we will work together to better understand what you are going through and what may be most helpful for you. Whether you are seeking support for relationship challenges, anxiety, or a difficult life transition, you do not have to navigate it alone.
