What's My Approach to Therapy?

I specialize in helping individuals and families heal from traumatic experiences, substance use issues, depression, anxiety, and other emotional struggles. My approach focuses on identifying the root causes of issues and their effects on your life, particularly in terms of how past experiences and trauma continue to shape current behaviors and emotional responses. Whether you’re feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or stuck in unhelpful patterns, our work together will help you reclaim balance and work toward a more fulfilling life. Using modalities like eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), internal family systems (IFS), and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, I guide clients to integrate and heal emotional wounds, restore balance, and gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences. I can work with you first to identify the parts of you that need healing, their origin, and the role(s) they play in your life, and support you through that process to help find a more integrated space in your life and body. Life transitions (planned and/or unplanned), traumatic experiences, grief, and other difficult or overwhelming experiences may lead to responses that initially served a purpose, yet no longer do. Examples could include being hypervigilant, overly anxious, having a depressed mood, reliance on substances, and other behaviors. This may make you feel alone, isolated, out of balance, and/or that something is wrong with you. Whether or not these feelings have been around for a while or are new, there are paths to help you move forward, and reaching out for therapy is one of them.
