Eniola Akinsunmi, Licensed Professional Counselor

Hi there! My name is Eniola Akinsunmi and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have a BA in Psychology from Tuskegee University and a MA in Counseling from Argosy University- Atlanta. My approach is always rooted in meeting where the client is; I create a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere so that the client can feel free to express hisherself. I utilize a person-centered approach to build a rapport with the client and I integrate theoretical approaches that best suit the client's issues. My population of interest is adults. Adulthood comes with a lot of transitions and changes that can be overwhelming, and I believe we humans need help once in a while to overcome hurdles in our lives. I have a passion to help individuals as they are going through life obstacles and I believe a good therapeutic relationship can help them achieve their goals for therapy. I always make sure I communicate effectively and utilize effective active listening skills because I want my client to feel heard. My calm and soft tone with added humor allows my client to feel at ease when they are in sessions with me. The first session is very light; it's the intake session. This is where I get to know you more and you get to know more about my approach.
