What's My Approach to Therapy?
Healthy relationships take intention, and it’s completely normal to need guidance along the way. If you’re seeking couples therapy, support for relationship anxiety, or help navigating communication issues, you’re already taking a meaningful step.
Relationships can feel overwhelming at times. Maybe meeting new partners triggers anxiety, or old trauma keeps pulling you out of the present. Sometimes unhelpful communication patterns start creeping in, conflicts escalate quickly, or a sense of distance slowly grows. No matter the challenge, we all deserve tools and insight to build the relationships we want.
My process begins with identifying the “what.” What emotions, reactions, or symptoms are showing up? Then we uncover the “why.” Why are these feelings so strong? Why does the past have such an impact on your current relationships?
From there, we work on the “how.” How can you move through emotions effectively and strengthen your capacity for healthy connection? I integrate Brainspotting, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, art therapy, attachment-based work, psychodynamic and existential approaches, somatic modalities, CBT, and nature-informed therapies.
My therapy dog, Teddy, also offers grounding and comfort through animal-assisted therapy.
The therapeutic relationship is one of the biggest predictors of progress, so I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. It’s a relaxed way to connect and see if we’re a good fit for your couples counseling or individual work.
