My Approach to Helping
I love helping people and truly care about others. You will feel the warmth and compassion in my approach. In therapy, I will provide you with a safe, unbiased and non-judgemental space to share your thoughts and feelings. I will help you to better understand your emotional concerns, make peace with your feelings and assist you in healing and implementing useful solutions to navigate your struggles most effectively. My goal is to help you build a life that makes you truly happy.
My approach is holistic and trauma informed. I combine techniques from CBT- cognitive-behavioral therapy (a focus on the connection between thoughts, feelings and behavior) and DBT- dialectical-behavioral therapy (practical techniques for regulating emotions, increasing mindfulness, improving interpersonal relationships and tolerating stress & challenging emotions).
I address the mind body connection by discussing nutrition that supports mental wellbeing and teaching relaxation and breathwork techniques. A major focus of my work also involves helping people to build more positive relationships with themselves and others.
Every person benefits from a slightly different technique. I take the time to get to know people and equip them with the tools which will be most helpful to them. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our conversations, and your treatment, to meet your unique and specific needs. We will focus on what you want to, in order to get you feeling better as quickly and sustainably as possible. We will move at a pace you are comfortable with.
My goal is not to keep you in therapy as long as possible, but instead to truly help you feel better and resolve your concerns.
