What's My Approach to Therapy?
My clients often begin therapy citing anxious and or depressive symptoms tied to complex concerns challenging their pursuits of meaningful living. Some have difficulties managing stress related to their relationships, work, or study, andor identity. Some struggle with the loss of someone or something important. Others feel rudderless, uncertain about how to steer their life in a more fulfilling direction.
As a clinical psychologist trained in generalist practice, I have over a decade of experience helping people address a wide range of psychological struggles. I specialize in navigating existential concerns such as questions of identity, experiences of meaninglessness, anxiety related to death and mortality, and balancing freedom with responsibility. I am skilled in helping people navigate grief and loss, communication struggles, relationship challenges, and perfectionistic tendencies. I value a collaborative approach that is as non-pathologizing as possible, preferring instead to help people define their struggles and strengths in ways that make sense to them. I seek to fully embrace the complexity of being human and aim to encourage clients to be more authentically themselves through warm, curious, and enthusiastic meetings. My constant pursuit in therapy is allowing the person I am working with to be themselves as much as possible and, in doing so, help them become who they want to become.
