I don't currently accept insurance, but I can provide documentation if clients wish to submit to an insurance company for "out of network" benefit coverage
I combine evidence-based treatment options with your values to give you the best tools for you.
My passion is understanding and improving family relationships. I do this from many directions, as a scientist and a practitioner. I trained as a social psychologist at the University of Guelph in Canada, where I earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology. My focus at this time was parenting and family relationships. My work resulted in multiple scholarly articles and presentations, appearing in journals and conferences all over the world.
I have also completed four couples therapy trainings via the Gottman Institute as well as the APA-accredited Humanistic and Existential and Relationship Therapy (HEART) training. I have also completed training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction through Bangor University in the UK, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
I work primarily with couples who are looking to strengthen or save their relationships, as well as individuals struggling with stress, anxiety, and worry. I also consult with government entities, corporations, and schools.
I am a member of several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association, the Society for Research in Child Development, and the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology. I am also a regular reviewer for top-tier journals.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
The first step to recovery is reaching out for support. The second step is finding a therapist that you feel comfortable with and connected to - this is what I say to all new clients at the end of our first session. I encourage them to take time to reflect on their commitment and motivation to do the work, and whether they think I am the "right" person to walk beside them.
