My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and National Board Certified Counselor, but in addition, I am the mother of six children and I understand the concerns that come with raising and parenting children. My practice offers a warm, safe environment for you and your family. I have worked as a child and family pyschotherapist for over twenty-five years. Clients receive a free consultation visit to discuss concerns and questions before beginning counseling. I accept insurance as an Out of Network Provider and offer a sliding scale fee in an effort to make counseling affordable for all.
More Info About My Practice
In addition to working with children and families, I am particularly interested in working with women on improving interpersonal relationships, and identifying unhealthy relationships.
Are you in an abusive relationship with a spouse, friend, sibling or parent? If you have to wonder, you might already have the answer.
I have worked successfully with women on exploring the relationships in their lives and helping to discover what is healthy and what is unhealthy. Counseling can provide the listening ear and needed feedback to help examine the emotional relationships in your life.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
For most clients counseling begins on a short term basis of six weeks. Behavioral goals are set and reviewed at the the end of six weeks. If clients successfully reach their goals they may choose to end their counseling sessions. If goals are not met they may choose to continue their sessions. Clients may continue with long term sessions until goals are successfully met or until the client decides to end therapy. It is always the choice of the client to participate in short term or long term therapy.
