My Approach to Therapy

I believe therapy works best when it feels safe, honest, and collaborative. My approach is warm, direct, and grounded in helping you understand not only what you are struggling with, but why certain patterns keep showing up in your life. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, addiction, relationship stress, and major life transitions. Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or tired of repeating the same cycles. Together, we slow things down, identify what is happening beneath the surface, and build practical tools for lasting change. My style combines evidence-based therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) informed trauma work, mindfulness, and a person-centered approach. I do not believe therapy is about judgment, blame, or being told what to do. It is about creating space to understand yourself more clearly, process painful experiences, and begin making choices that align with the life you want. I also bring years of experience working in treatment settings, which has shaped my belief that healing is possible even when things feel complicated or deeply rooted. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, trauma, addiction, or relationship concerns, my goal is to help you feel less alone, more grounded, and more capable of moving forward.

My background includes years of experience working in treatment settings, which informs my work with clients who are navigating recovery, shame, stress, and complex life patterns. How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

We all have a story. I am part of the recovery community and have been sober for close to fourteen years. That experience shaped the direction of my life, eventually leading me into social work and the work I do today as a therapist. Recovery taught me the importance of honesty, humility, connection, and hope. Early on, I was surrounded by people who were willing to share their stories, and those experiences helped me understand how powerful it can be to feel seen, heard, and not judged. I learned that people are far more complex than their symptoms, their mistakes, or the hardest chapters of their lives. My own journey has made me a more compassionate and grounded therapist, but I do not believe my path has to be anyone else?s path. I am not a one-size-fits-all therapist, and I do not approach therapy with the assumption that what worked for me is what will work for you. I respect each client's autonomy and believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to listen carefully, understand what matters to you, and help you move toward a life that feels more honest, stable, and fulfilling. My goal is not to tell you who to become. My goal is to help you better understand yourself and support you in getting where you want to go.

Groups I Work With

I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, addiction, relationship stress, and major life transitions. Many of my clients feel stuck in patterns they do not fully understand, overwhelmed by emotions, disconnected from themselves or others, or tired of coping in ways that no longer work. I often work with individuals who have experienced trauma, including childhood wounds, relationship trauma, attachment injuries, and painful life events that continue to affect how they feel, think, and relate to others. I also support adults in recovery or those questioning their relationship with substances, behaviors, or other coping patterns. My practice is a good fit for clients who want therapy to be honest, grounded, and collaborative. I work well with people who are ready to better understand themselves, build healthier coping skills, process unresolved experiences, and move toward a more stable and meaningful life. I provide therapy for adults in Florida, including clients seeking support for anxiety, trauma, addiction, depression, relationship issues, and EMDR therapy.
