My Approach to Therapy

You already know a lot about what’s wrong. You’ve watched the videos, read the threads, tried the apps, and tried the dopamine detoxes. And you’re still up at 2 a.m. scrolling or gaming when you meant to sleep, putting off the work that matters, or quietly feeling behind on school, your career, dating, or where you thought you’d be by now. Knowing what to do and actually doing it are two different problems. Many of the people I see are men who feel stuck and are tired of saying they’re fine. Some have never talked to anyone about this before. You don’t need a diagnosis, a crisis, or the right words to start. I understand the online world firsthand. My approach is practical. cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) gives us the tools, and knowing online culture means I get the context. Together, we make it about your life, not a textbook case. In practice, that means concrete strategies you try between sessions. If this sounds familiar, book a free 20-minute call. No forms, no pressure. Just a conversation to see if we’re a good fit.

Background Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 2 years delivering one-on-one coaching sessions on anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, and problematic gaming and online habits. My clinical experience includes work at a men’s mental health practice under clinical supervision. In 2026, I opened Therapy For People Raised Online. I hold an MA in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and an Honours BSc in Mental Health from the University of Toronto. Not for emergencies. If you’re in crisis, call or text 9-8-8 any time.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

A lot of men I talk to have spent years trying to fix this alone. More discipline, a new routine, another video. When it doesn’t stick, the conclusion is usually “something is wrong with me.” I see it differently. If willpower alone worked, it would have worked by now. That says more about the problem than about you. Getting help with something hard isn’t weakness. It’s what you’d do with anything else that matters: find someone who knows the terrain and build a plan. Therapy is a practical decision, not an admission of failure.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

Not sure what you’d even say? That’s common. Most people start with whatever has been bothering them lately, and we figure it out from there. You don’t need a clear problem or the right words. If your mind goes blank, I’ll ask questions and guide it. The free 20-minute call is the low-stakes way to find out. No payment, no forms, and no pressure to continue. You’ll leave knowing what working together would look like, and whether it’s worth it to you.
