Hello, my name is Dawn. I'm a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)) with more than 15 years of experience, and the heart of my work is simple: when a client feels genuinely heard, healing begins. From our very first session, I listen without judgment and honor your story, because so many of the people I work with have carried their burdens alone for too long or felt unheard by providers before me.
My ideal clients are people of all ages who are ready for something to feel different, or better. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, the aftermath of trauma, or simply feeling stuck, I'm here to offer hope and support. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all care. Instead, I partner with each client to build a plan together, grounded in trust, honest communication, and a genuine working relationship.
I bring particular depth to trauma work and an understanding of how trauma lives in the body and shapes overall well-being. My care is holistic and collaborative. Together, we look for root causes, consider the full range of supports that might help, including both non-medical approaches, when it's truly the right fit, medication, and revisit the plan as you grow. The goal is always your goals, not a protocol.
You deserve a provider who truly listens and walks alongside you toward healing. Whether you're taking your very first step or you've been struggling for years, you don't have to figure this out alone. Reach out today, and let's begin your journey to wellness together.
My Practice & Services
My Role as a Provider
I see myself as a partner and a steady presence, not an authority handing down directives. My job is to listen deeply, help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and work with you to find a path forward that fits your life and your values. I hold space without judgment, and I stay alongside you as the plan evolves.
What I Love About This Work
I love journeying with people. There’s nothing like witnessing the moment someone who has felt unheard for years finally feels understood, and begins to believe that something can actually feel different. Being trusted to walk with people through their hardest seasons is a privilege I don’t take lightly.
My View on Medication
I offer both therapy and medication management, but I never lead with the prescription pad. Medication is one tool among many, considered thoughtfully and only when it genuinely serves your goals. I take time to understand the whole person first, your history, your body, and your circumstances, so that any recommendation, medical or non-medical, is made in true partnership with you.
The Concerns I Work With Most
Anxiety, depression, trauma, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), grief, life transitions, and the feeling of being “stuck.” I work with people across the lifespan, and I bring particular experience to trauma and women’s mental health.
