What's My Approach to Therapy?

Welcome to my practice! I’m glad you’re here. I offer truly individualized care—tailored to your unique needs, pace, and goals. Every aspect of your experience is managed directly by me to ensure personal attention and continuity of care. After 30 years in the mental health field, I provide meaningful, one-on-one therapeutic work. At this stage in my career, I’ve intentionally created a small, client-centred practice where quality of care takes precedence over quantity. I have a speciality in substance misuse and addiction, with extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and workplace stress. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for your needs.

I’ve designed a space where we can address your needs. I specialize in substance use and misuse, anxiety, and life transitions. Special populations that will benefit from my professional experience are healthcare professionals needing a provider who understands the demands and pressures in the related work and those navigating a difficult workplace culture.

I invite you to begin the journey of self-discovery and change. I look forward to speaking with you. If you’re seeking a personalized therapeutic experience with a seasoned clinician who values trust, connection, and individualized attention, you’ve come to the right place.

Groups I Work With

I have intentionally designed my practice as a supportive, focused space where clients can address complex emotional, relational, and professional challenges with care and depth. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, substance use and misuse, workplace stress, and significant life transitions.

A primary population I serve includes individuals experiencing addiction, as well as those impacted by a loved one’s substance use. I understand the emotional toll, boundary challenges, and patterns of burnout and codependency that often accompany these experiences, and I help clients move toward clarity, stability, and healthier relationships.

Healthcare professionals are another key population in my practice. With over 30 years of experience within the healthcare system—including roles as a clinician, director, vice president, and entrepreneur—I bring both professional and lived understanding of the pressures, ethical strain, leadership challenges, and workplace culture issues unique to this field. Clients in healthcare often seek a provider who “gets it”, and my background allows me to meet them with insight, nuance, and respect for the realities of their work.

Life transitions are a central focus of my clinical work across the lifespan. I support clients navigating adolescence and launching into adulthood, early career stress and “adulting”, marriage and family dynamics, empty nesting, career changes, and end-of-life concerns involving loved ones. These transitions can bring uncertainty, grief, identity shifts, and anxiety, and therapy can offer a steady space to process change and move forward with intention.
