My Approach to Therapy

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specializing in anxiety, depression, and compulsive behaviors, offering both in-person and virtual services. Life becomes painful and overwhelming at times. Stepping into therapy takes courage. It can be a difficult journey to take alone. The counseling relationship is a partnership. The goal is to better understand whats going on and find a path toward health. Problems can show up as anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviors, addictions, and other coping attempts. This partnership requires trust and mutual respect. Meeting an experienced, compassionate professional who can address these concerns is often the first step toward resolution. Over my long career, I have utilized and trained in a great number of treatment modalities. I apply the approaches that best fit each individual, always with active participation from the client. This may include eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, anxiety treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, and others. The real work begins when you leave my office and start using the knowledge, understanding, and tools gained during therapy. You must have the information and skills you need to address the problems youre facing. I take my role very seriously. Im committed to helping you move toward something more positive.

I work with addictions, including “process” addictions like gambling, pornography, work, spending, love and sex, and codependency. I also help people with trauma, including posttraumatic stress (PTSD), often using eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) in treatment.
