My Approach to Helping
Because the experience with therapy is steered by the client and counselor connection, I practice under the guidance of the person-centered (Rogerian) approach to therapy. Carl Rogers, one of the founders of humanistic therapy, lays the blueprint for how clinicians don’t operate as manipulators or constructors, but as facilitators of self-actualization. I have always favored this approach to helping others make sense of their stories.
