My Approach to Helping

Because the experience with therapy is steered by the client and counselor connection, I practice under the guidance of the person-centered (Rogerian) approach to therapy. Carl Rogers, one of the founders of humanistic therapy, lays the blueprint for how clinicians don’t operate as manipulators or constructors, but as facilitators of self-actualization. I have always favored this approach to helping others make sense of their stories.

My Therapy Focus

I work with clients to help them navigate multiple life stressors, specifically around relationship issues, intimacy, struggles with identity, and career goals. I specialize in working with the Black and African community, and individuals struggling with racialized trauma. I also have experience supporting and working with individuals struggling with depression and anxiety.
