What's My Approach to Therapy?

As a solution-focused therapist, I believe my role is to help you build realistic solutions to your life problems. I have 13 years of post-licensure clinical experience, specializing in issues such as depression, anxiety, addiction, life transition issues, relationship conflicts, trauma, grief, and general stress management. I believe in providing a safe, collaborative, and client-centered therapeutic space where we can achieve your goals! I am a licensed professional counselor supervisor and a licensed chemical dependency counselor.

Being solution-focused means that I am eager to get us on the path to finding personalized solutions for the concerns you're facing. This doesn’t mean I give unsolicited advice as if I’m the expert on how you should live, love, or be; rather, I am here to collaborate with you to find what works in your unique life.

I know starting with a new therapist can be a bit daunting for some, and that’s alright. I do strive to keep this an even-handed, conversational, and productive therapeutic relationship at every turn by remaining open, empathic, available, and non-judgmental. During our time together, it will always be OK to be you.

My Practice & Services

I provide 100% online therapy to adults in Texas and Florida.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

One of the most important questions to ask any therapist is: "What can I expect from you?" This is, after all, your life and wellbeing we're talking about; it's only fair to ask!

First, please know that I am eager to get us started on the path to finding meaningful, realistic, and personalized solutions for the concerns you're facing. I certainly want to understand your problems and what it is like for you to experience them, but I know my real job is to work with you to find the solutions to these problems. This doesn't mean I give unsolicited advice as if I'm the expert on how you should live, love, or be; rather, I am here to collaborate with you to find what works in your unique life.

Second, I'm a big believer in feedback throughout the therapeutic process, by which I mean I'm always eager to hear what is and is not working during our time together. Therapy is not "one-size-fits-all," and so finding the right custom fit for you will necessarily take some degree of experimentation. With that in mind, your input is extremely valuable at all stages of therapy!
