My Approach to Therapy

Finding a therapist can feel especially personal when you’re exploring your identity or trying to feel understood. I work with LGBTQ+ teens and young adults, and neurodivergent children and adolescents, including those with attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) and autism. Together, we can work on anxiety, depression, relationships, coming out, gender exploration, and transitions such as leaving home or starting college. I use cognitive behavioral therapy () approaches adapted to your age and needs, and your feedback helps shape our work. I offer in-person appointments in Ypsilanti and telehealth throughout Michigan. I am an intermediate American Sign Language (ASL) signer; please share your communication needs so we can discuss fit. To inquire about working together, request Corin through Forest Ferns Counseling’s Get Started page or text (810) 394-8921.

My Practice & Services

I practice at Forest Ferns Counseling, a Deaf-led, text-friendly practice, under the supervision of Dr. Mel Whalen, PhD, LP. I am a doctoral trainee in clinical psychology at Eastern Michigan University and hold a BS from Minerva University. In-person appointments are available in Ypsilanti, with telehealth across Michigan. I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation. To request an appointment, use the Get Started page or text (810) 394-8921 and ask for Corin. Parents may reach out on behalf of a young person. Please share your preferred appointment format and insurance so the practice can confirm fit, openings, and cost.
